The Life of Elizabeth M. Hemphill

Obituary - Elizabeth  "Belle" (nee Matchica ) Hemphill, 96, of Wayne, PA, died September 15, 2021 at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she had formerly been a resident of Havertown and Aston before moving to Wayne.  A graduate of  Upper Darby High, class of'43 she was an  office worker for Nu Car Carrier for 12  years before retiring in 1988 . Belle had been previously employed by Westinghouse, where she met her late husband John.  She had been a member of Grace Chapel and St. Faiith's Episcopal Church. Belle was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Summers on LBI were always a treat. Survivors: include her sons, Jonathan E. Hemphill and Stephen J. Hemphill; 

Graveside  will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 1:00 pm at Arlington Cemetery

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026
