The Life of KATHRYN S. SNYDER

Kathryn S. (Sins) Snyder, 70, of Cumru Twp., passed away on August 21, 2021, at Penn St. Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the loving wife of James M. Snyder; they were married on August 26, 1972. The pair moved to Reading the following year. Born in Erie, she was a daughter of the late Robert H. and Rita A. (Armbruster) Sins. Kathy was a graduate of Mercyhurst Prep, Erie, PA in 1968 and Villanova University earning a BS in Nursing in 1972. As a longtime school nurse in the Reading School District, she enjoyed caring for the children of the community. Kathy later worked with Berks Visiting Nurses and taught nursing at both Alvernia University and Reading Area Community College. A sustaining member of the Jr. League of Reading, Kathy enjoyed playing golf, traveling and socializing. The south Jersey shore always held a special place in her heart. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Brian P. Snyder, spouse of Chiara M. Potenza, Chicago, IL and her sister, Gail S. Demers, Fairfax, VA. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 27, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Rd, Mohnton, PA 19540, with interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
