Kathryn Lee “Katie” Newcomer, 40, of Kutztown, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at her home.

Born in Lancaster, Katie was a daughter of Rosa J. (Conley) Bergen and the late Lee E. Newcomer. Katie was a 1999 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School, Lancaster, and a 2004 graduate of Kutztown University where she received a degree in metals. 

As a talented artist, Katie especially enjoyed making pottery and jewelry. She loved to fish and stay up late with friends. She also enjoyed her job tending bar at the Kutztown Fire Company Social Quarters, a position she held for over 15 years. She loved live music, particularly Ween, and attended many shows. Katie was the happiest spending time with family, her many friends, and beloved cat  Pants. We will miss her shenanigans, long conversations, and wild sense of humor, as well as her bright smile, laughter, and empathy. Katie was a treasured friend to countless people in and out of Kutztown, a community she always supported and adored

In addition to her Mom, Rosa, Katie is survived by her brother, John C. Bergen, Tucker, GA, and her boyfriend, Daniel Sevem, Kutztown.

The family and friends will be holding a celebration for Katie at a later date.
