The Life of Harry R Spangler

Harry R. Spangler, 84, of Llewellyn, Branch Township, passed away on Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill – East. 

 

Born in Llewellyn, he was a son of the late Herbert A. Spangler, Sr. and the late Mary Beach Spangler.  He was a 1954 graduate of Minersville High School after attending Branch Township schools.  He later studied electronics technology at the former Williamsport Technical Institute, now the Pennsylvania College of Technology.  He was later employed by Sears in both Pottsville and Frackville. 

 

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

 

He was a member of Frieden’s Lutheran Church, Stein’s Mill, Branch Township. 

 

Harry was preceded in death by six siblings, Herbert Spangler, Jr, Jean Spangler, Karlyn Allar, John Spangler, David Spangler and Robert Spangler. 

 

He is survived by his brother, James Spangler (spouse, Audrey), West West Terrace, Branch Township; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. from Friedens Lutheran Church, 54 Church Road, Pottsville.  Commital will be held on Monday at 1:30 P.M. in Schuylkill Memorial Park, North Manheim Township.
