The Life of DOROTHY ANN BURNAM OLSEN

Dorothy Ann Olsen, 92, passed away at Woodlands Creek Senior Living on May 9, 2021. She was born on October 3, 1928, the daughter of Lisle and Maude Burnam.

Dorothy was a graduate of West High School in Waterloo, Iowa. Over the years, she devoted herself to her home and raising her children. She was a longtime member of Westkirk Presbyterian Church and the Bagpipers Group.

Dorothy enjoyed watching Westerns, cooking, playing cards, and traveling with her husband. She also loved spending time with loved ones, especially her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Susan (Jim) Grundmeier, JD (Nancy) Olsen, and Kevin (Beverly) Olsen; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen “Ole” Olsen; mother, Maude Burnam; father, Lisle Burnam; step-mother, Bernice Burnam; and her brother, Donald Burnam.

A celebration of life luncheon will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. A private family graveside service will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
