Walter Edward King, 68 of Hamilton, Iowa passed away on March 23, 2021 after a valiant fight with Lymphoma.

Walter was born on January 29, 1953 to Louis and Mae King in Peoria Illinois. After attending Dunlap, Illinois High School he went on to study pastoral biblical studies at Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. Walter pastored at various churches in Iowa for 41 years. He was currently the pastor at Union Liberty Church in Bussey, Iowa.

His love and passion was being a humble servant for God. One of the greatest loves of his life was time spent with his Grandchildren. Most people say that Walt had a unique infectious laugh and they never saw him without a smile.

Walter met his wife Diane King in 1969 at Dunlap High School. They married two years later in July of 1971 and went on to have two children and adopt three children and 60 foster children.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mae. He is survived by his Wife Diane, children Kimberly, Teresa, Katelyn, Isaac, and Totiana. Grandchildren Kelsey, Trenton, Dakota, Wyatt, Sophia, Jayden, Shakira, Zayden, Catelin, Jasmine, Isabelle; brothers Louis and Dennis, sisters Louise and Lauretta.

A Celebration of Life for Pastor Walter E. King, age 68 of Hamilton, will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Union Liberty Church in Bussey. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Union Liberty Church or to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.
