The Life of Gladys F. Hertzog

Gladys F. (Miller) Hertzog, 96, formerly of Kutztown, died peacefully Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in The Lutheran Home at Topton.  She was the widow of Earl C. Hertzog, who died June 13, 1983.  Born in Rockland Township, Gladys was a daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Florence E. (Eckert) Miller.  Gladys was a member of Maidencreek Church, Blandon.

Gladys was formerly employed at Leiningers Knitting Mill, Lyon Station and The Lutheran Home at Topton.  Gladys was a dedicated and proud homemaker.

Gladys enjoyed playing cards, word searches, puzzles, bus trips, including trips to the casinos.  Most precious to Gladys, was spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter: Judy E. (Hertzog), wife of Bobby Dorn, Kutztown; two sons: Dennis L., husband of Brigitte (Jacobeit) Hertzog, Melbourne, Florida; and Gary J., husband  of The Reverend Sara A. (Weaknecht) Hertzog, Kutztown; Other survivors include five grandchildren: Jeffrey B. Dorn; Oliver Hertzog; Jesse B. Dorn; Beth A. (Hertzog) Harbonic; and Nathan E. Hertzog; and ten great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Earl, and parents, Gladys was predeceased by brothers Harold W. Miller; Kenneth L. Miller; and Gene L. Miller.

Services for Gladys will be held privately in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, with her Daughter-in-Law The Reverend Sara A. Hertzog, officiating.  There are no public calling hours.

The family extends its appreciation and thanks to The Lutheran Home at Topton for their care of Gladys over the years as a resident of the Henry Health Center.
