Aileen Mary McClure, age 98 of Venice, FL, passed peacefully Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Venice Regional Hospital.
 
Born and raised as a British Subject in Whitbourne, Newfoundland, Aileen was the eldest daughter of William J. and Alma (nee Forward) Larner.  She studied at Saint Bride’s College, Littledale, Newfoundland and later received her Real Estate license from Penn State University.
 
She worked as a stenographer, supporting the military Navy base in Argentia, Newfoundland during WWII. It was while working on base, that she would meet her future husband, Andrew J. McClure, III. Aileen and Andrew were married in 1946, and settled in the Philadelphia area. Aileen became a citizen of the United States in 1948.
 
Over the years Aileen performed significant services as a volunteer for the Pearl S. Buck foundation in Bucks County and at various local hospitals.
 
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Andrew J. McClure, III and her siblings, Arthur, Kevin and Alice.
 
Aileen is survived by her sister, Wilhelmina G. Shearer; her 3 children, Kevin J. McClure, Karin A. McMahon, Joshua A. McClure; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by numerous nieces and hephews.
Burial-in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
