The Life of BONNIE CAROL HUTCHINS

Bonnie C. Hutchins of Polk City, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Bonnie was born on July 6, 1926 and raised on a dairy farm near Elkhart, IA. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1944 and entered the Nursing Cadet Core in Marshalltown, IA.

Bonnie met her husband, Buck after he returned from World War II and they were married on May 17, 1946. To this union, two daughters were born. Bonnie worked with Buck on the farm and enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbors. She was a dedicated mother who would stay up at night and sew dresses for the girl's dolls. Sheila and Sherry loved coming home from school to find their mom had made THE BEST cream puffs for an afternoon snack.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Sheila Heaberlin and Sherry Hutchins; grandsons, Joe Heaberlin and Willie Heaberlin; great grandsons, Darin Heaberlin and Tanner Heaberlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck and a grandson Daniel Heaberlin.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 27th at Polk City United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 am till service time. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens following the service.
