The Life of Susan Halchak
Susan B. Halchak, 48, of Fairfield, formerly of Oxford, wife of John Reilly, died Sept. 30, 2010. Her sons, John Reilly, Jr and Nicholas Reilly, both live in Seymour.
She was born Dec. 20, 1961 in Derby, daughter of Daniel Halchak and the late Marguerite Polk Halchak. A graduate of Seymour High School, she earned her bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Connecticut in 1983. In high school, 1979, she won the state class M 1 Meter Diving Championship; and in college, 1983 the Eastern Conference 1 Meter Diving Championship. She also was an accomplished swimmer and gymnast. She worked as a waitress for Circle Diner in Fairfield and attended the St. James Catholic Church in Stratford. Besides her husband and father, survivors include her tow sons, her brother Daniel Halchak, Jr. of Stratford and sister Mary Ellen Kunz of Stamford and seveeral nieces and nephews.
