The Life of Mary Caiazzo Torday
Mary C. Torday, 86, beloved wife of Ladislau "Bill" Torday of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning November 2, 2008 at the Hilltop Health Care in Ansonia. Mrs. Torday was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on December 24, 1921 daughter of the late Angelo and Marietta Caiazzo. She was a resident of Bridgeport for most of her life before moving to Ansonia in 2000. Mary was devoted to the care and well-being of her family. Besides her husband Bill, she is survived by a son, Allen Torday and his wife Betty of Ansonia; two daughters, Laura Knutson and her husband, Curt of Bethlehem and Lisa Franco and her husband Michael of Beacon Falls; two sisters, Millie Kowalkowski of Trumbull and Fannie Bombino of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Christine McNeil of Ansonia, Melissa Silver of Milford and Michael Franco of Oxford; two great-granddaughters, Caitlyn and Cassidy McNeil; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael's Church in Dergy. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. The Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home, Ansonia, is entrusted with the arrangements.
