The Life of Donald S. Abbott

Donald S. Abbott, age 55, loving husband of Cheryl Karabeinikoff Abbott of Seymur, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 18, 2005.  Don was born in New Haven on February 1, 1950 son of the late Victor and Elizabeth Stewart Abbott Sr.  He had formerly worked in his family owned business, Abbott's Garden center and also as a mechanic at Vic's Super Service Station in Derby.  He had a natural talent in carpentry and woodworking in which he bestowed many of these gifts to family and friends.  He also loved landscaping and gardening.  He will be sadly missed by all.  Besides his wife Cheryl, he is survived by a son, Justin Abbott of Seymour; a daughter, Melissa Abate of Asonia; a brother, Victor Abbott Jr. and his wife  Laura of Ansonia; two sisters, Joyce Torello and Charlene Gallant and her husband Philip, all of Naugatuck; three grandchiildren, Coutney and Christopher Abate, both of Ansonia and Caitlyn Abbott of New Britain; as well as several nieces, nephews and devoted frient, his do, Rebel  He was predeceased by a sister Virginia Driscoll.  A memorial celebration of Don's life and a gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday August 22, 2005 from 4 to 7 pm in the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funral Home, 62 Beaver Street, Ansonia.  At 7 pm Monday a prayer service will be held with the Rev. Mark Sobczak officiating.  Burial will be private in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
