The Life of Mildred Olechnowich Warga

Mildred E. "Millie" Olenchnowich Warga, 103, wife of the late Michael C. Warga, died April 1, 2010 at the St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield. Daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Statkevich Olechnowich, she was born Nov. 3, 1906 in Minsk, Russia. She immigrated through Ellis Island in 1913 at the age of 7 and settled with her family in Ansonia. Mrs. Warga remained a resident of Ansonia until 1994 when she moved to the St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Newhouse and her husband Carl J. Newhouse Sr. of Coconut Creek, FL. and Carolyn Cook and her husband Francis Cook of Somers; a brother Stephen Oleck of Moorestown, NJ; a son-in-law Steve Poline of Hamden; six grandchildren, Carl Newhouse Jr. of Parkland, FL, Cheryl Piccillo of Chapel Hill, NC, Neal Newhouse of Perry, GA, Darrell Cook of Severna Park, Md, Damon Cook of Beverly Hills, CA and Jennifer Selmquist of Hamden. 10 great- grandchldren Alexander and Harrison Newhouse, Nicholas, Jonathan and Lily Ann Piccillo, Benjamin, Andrew and Tyler Newhouse and Davis and Celia Cook; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Lillian Poline and brothers Benjamin and Stanley Olechnowich. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia
