The Life of Royal "Roy" T. Harvie Jr.

Royal "Roy" T. Harvie, Jr. age 63, beloved and devoted husband of Leona Kennedy Harvie of Jackson Street, Ansonia, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, following a short illness.  Roy was born in New Haven on June 12, 1943, son of the late Royal T and Alice K. Felsted Harvie Sr.  A resident of Ansonia for forty years, he had worked as a maintenance mechanic for the City of New Haven Housing Authority for twenty five years until his retirement.  He was a former Ansonia Little League Coach.  Besides his wife Leona, he is survived by a son Brent W. Harvie and his wife Keri of Swanton, VT, a daughter Michelle L. Hendricks and her husband Francis of Naugatuck, a brother William Smith of Arizona, a sister Mary D'Antonio of New Haven and four cherished grandchildren, Caleb R. Harvie, Naomi M. Harvie, Victoria J. Hendricks and Trevor D. Hendricks; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers Corneliuw nd Donald Smith and a sister Alice Laden.  Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday March 24, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia with Bishop James Pillar officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.  Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti F.H.  To send a condolence or obtain directions please visit www.spinellifuneralhome.com.
