The Life of William L. Berthold
William L. Berthold, 87, of Stratford, entered into rest on Monday October 19, 2009 at Lord Chamberlain. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Herman Berthold. Mr. Berthold was born in Sheppton, PA on July 3, 1922 son of the late Louise and Nancy Saratori Berthold and was a Bridgeport resident until moving to Stratford. He was a supervisor for over 32 years for the American Chair and Cable until his retirement. Mr. Berthold was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II. He served with Copany 1 26th Infantry Regiment 1st Division and received the Purpe Heart. Mr. Berthold was a member of the Catholic War Veterans. He is the loving father of William Berthold, Gery James Berthold, Judith Sapouckey and Margaret Berthold and brother Arthur Berthold, loving grandfather of five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Friday in St. Mary's Church, Derby. His burial with military honors will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. The Edward F.
