The Life of Ole Grusgaard Jensen

Ole Grusgaard Jensen, husband of Othilia Jensen, died this morning July 14, 1949 at Griffin Hospital. Mr. Jensen had been in ill health for the past few months and was a patient at the hospital for about two weeks. Mr. Jensen was born March 6, 1868 in Elsing, Denmark, the son of the late Christian and Anna Maria Olsen Jensen. He came to this country in 1892. Mr. Jensen had been in partnership with John F. Brady of the West Side Market for about 27 years. Altogether he had been associated with the market for about 50 years, retiring two years ago. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Ansonia; Ansonia lodge of Elks and Danish Brotherhood No. 41 of Derby. Endowed with those qualities that make and hold friends, Mr. Jensen was held in high regard and esteem by all and his death brings sorrow to a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Besides his wife, Mr. Jensen is survived by two sons, Jens C. Jensen of St. Louis, Mo and Leslie O. Jensen of Ansonia; three grandchildren, Mrs. Paul Youngdahl and Robert L. Jensen, both of East Ann Arbor, Michigan and Barbara Jean Jensen of Missouri Valley College, St. Louis, MO; one brother Simon Jensen of Hartford and several nieces and nephews. The James Shay Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
