The Life of Walter I. DeHart

Walter I "Sonny" DeHart, Jr., age 70, of Derby, entered into peaceful rest on Wednesday January 16, 2007 at the Hospital of St. Raphae, New Haven.  He was the beloved husband of 39 years to Margery Wooster DeHart.  He was born Septembeer 16, 1936 in Bridgeport, son of the late Walter I., Sr. and Edna Corcoran DeHart.  He was a resident of Derby for most of his life, he retired in 2006 from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation where he was empoyed for 13 years a a roa maintainer.  He was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church, Ansonia.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping and reading.  Besides his wife, Walter leaves his loving family, sons Walter I DeHart III and his fie Petra in Germany and Brian S. DeHart and his wife Phyllis of Naugauck; three sisters, Edna Pillsbury and Merrily Makaitis both of Florida and Rose LaFlamme of Ansonia, eight grandchildren and several nieces, nephew and cousins.  His grandson Brian DeHart Jr. predeceased him.  Funeral servicew will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, to Holy Rosary Church, Father Sallemi Drive, Ansonia where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.  Intrment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may all at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.  Memorial gifts may be sent to the Fr.
