The Life of Michael Joseph McCarthy
Michael Joseph McCarthy, 51, beloved husband of Michelle "Mickie" Park McCarthy of Ansonia, died suddenly Thursday February 19, 2009. Born in Bridgeport, December 3, 1956, he was the son of the late Kenneth M. and Marie T. Antal McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy was a 1974 graduate of Ansonia High School and for 31 years worked as a truck driver for the Petruzzello Transport Co. He was a true blue NY Yankees Fan, an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed camping and hunting and together with his wife and best friend, Mickie, sailed many Caribbean cruises and trips to the islands. He will be long remembered for his special loving relationship he shared with his wife and children, and his fun-loving personality that endeared many to him. In addition to his wife of 27 years, he is survived by his cherished children of whom he was so proud, Morgan K. McCarthy of Boston, MA and Kyle M. McCarthy of Ansonia; a devoted brother Kevin J. McCarthy of Maryland; father-in-law Joseph Park of Shelton; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews as well as many, many friends. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
