The Life of Katherine Ansonoff Culmo

Katherine Ansonoff "Kay" Culmo, a longtime resident of Ansonia and most recently Latham,N.Y., passed away Friday January 9, 2009 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Kay lived every day to the fullest and her positive outlook on life is a lesson for all. Born in Newtown, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Karpinowich Ansonoff. She was predeceased by her dear brother Michael Ansonoff. Kay is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Angelo R. Culmo Jr. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kathy Cirulnick of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jennifer and her husband Erik Nelson of Latham, N.Y. and a son Angelo and his wife Meghan Culmo of West Hartford; eight grandchildren whom she adored including Aaron and Josh Cirulnick; Erik, Sam and Jake Nelson, Angelo, Kathleen and Clairfe Culmo. SDhe is further survived by several aunts including her deat aunt Nancy Krupa; nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was a member of several organizations in the community including the Filda Club, Italian American Club, Garden Club of Ansonia and Holy Rosary Church. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
