The Life of James H. Hawks

James H. Hawks, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home on Silver Hill Saturday afternoon October 12, 1918 at the age of 73. Death was due to complication of troubles brought on by old age. Mr. Hawks leaves twenty-nine descendants, six children, nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was born in Philipstown, NY and made his home in NY state until thirteen years ago when he removed to Ansonia. Mr. Hawks also leaves five sissters and one brother, Mrs. James Brown and Mrs. Charles Hawks of Beacon,NY, Mrs. Theodore Adams, Johnsville, NY; Mrs. James Stevens of Fishkill, NY; Mrs. Charles Mosher of Beacon Falls and Leonard Hawks of Poughkeepsie, NY. Undertaker A.C. Kaiser has charge of the arrangements for the funeral and services will be held at the Pine Memorial Chapel in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia
