The Life of Michael J. Politis

Michael J. Politis, 86, of Seymour, formerly a lifelong resident of Oxford, moving to Seymour recently, died on Wednesday, December 29, 2004, unexpectedly at his home. He was the husband of Alice B. Morris. Michael was born in Ansonia, January 23, 1918, son of the late James and Stamatia Politis. He was a sales manager for Borden's Dairy in Naugatuck for a number of years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. Michael was a member of the Oxford American Legion, VFW, DAV and the Masonic Lodge of Seymour. He was a member of the Elks Club and Moose Club of Lake Worth, Fla. where he was a winter resident for many years and the 40-8 organization. Besides his loving wife of 58 years of Seymour, he leaves his beloved children, James M. Politis of Wellington, Fla., and Penny P. Kovzel of Oxford; four cherished grandchildren, Michele Kovzel of Oxford, John Kovzel of Jackson, Ga. and Michael and Claire Politis of Wellington, Fla.and two great-grandchildren. Funeral on Friday December 31, 2004 at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, Seymour with military honors. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia at a later date.
