The Life of John Windisch

John C. Windisch Sr., 57, of Ansonia died Thursday April 20, 1989 in the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, after a long illness. He was the husband of Elizabeth Blackwood Windisch. Mr. Windisch, son of the late Frederick and Mary Skurat Windisch, was born in Ansonia, July 17, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of Ansonia. He was a truck driver for the Axton & Cross Trucking Co., North Haven, for many years until his retirement. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, and was a communicant of the Assumption Church in Ansonia. Besides his wife he leaves a con, John C. Windisch, Jr. and a daughter Susan Urbon, both of Ansonia; two brothers, Frederick Windisch of Shelton and Robert Windisch of Chicopee, MA; a sister Jean Matthews of Bethany and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Assumption Church on Saturday April 22 at 9 A.M. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
