The Life of Ervin M. Antrum
Ervin Mills Antrum departed this life Sunday November 30, 2008 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby. He was born September 25, 1928 in Society Hill, S.C., to the late Lena Mae Smith and Patrick "PET" Mills. He was the stepson of Dock Smith, Sr. Ervin was a U.S. Army veteran, and a retiree of the ANaconda Brass Company. Ervin was a member of the former Copper City Elks and the Southern Mens' Club. Ervin leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Barbara A. Jones (Carl) of New Haven, Herminia Stephens (Harvey) of Hartsville, S.C. and Ervalena Gandy of Rocky Mount, N.C> He also leaves to mourn his passing, sisters, Lizzie Mae Robinson (Bonnie) of Maltimore, MD, Esther Law of Ansonia, Belva Canady (Billy) of Waterbury; brothers, Dock "SAM" Smith, Jr. (Margie) of Ansonia, Thomas Mills Sr. (Vera) of Hartsville, S.C., Billy Wilson (Ollie) of Hamden; and one godchild, Kairee; stepsons, Derrick and Anthony White. Ervin was the widower of Grace Antrum and was predeceased by a son, Kevin Gandy; and a brother, Michael Mills. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4th from Jenkins-King Funeral Home, Ansonia. Burial will follow with military honors in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
