The Life of Christine M Zukovich

Christine M. ‘Tina’ Zukovich, 69, of Still Creek, passed away suddenly Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill East. 

 

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Blickley) Ballat.

 

Tina was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, McAdoo, where she was very active with all church activities, including St. Michael’s Guild and St. Michael’s Rosary Group.

 

She was a 1969 graduate of Nativity High School.  Prior to retiring, she was employed as a manager at various clothing stores.

 

Tina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed gardening and playing Bingo, but her greatest love was being Nana to her beloved Emma and Hudson.

 

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were sisters Joann Williams and Suzanne Rittle; brother Joseph J. Ballat, Jr.; and grandson Carl William Kruger.

 

Surviving, are her husband of 47years, Robert W. Zukovich; daughter Susan Kruger and husband Chip of Fairfax Station, VA; grandchildren Emma Mary and Hudson Robert; sisters Lucille Hayner, Mary E. Heidenwolf, Patricia Stramara, Rose Marie Weaver, Amy Ryan, Dee Dunkel, and Kay Rissinger; brothers Edward, Michael, Paul and James Ballat; Godchildren Hannah Rittle and Marybeth Sterner; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Her funeral will be held Saturday.  The Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s B.C. Church, McAdoo.  Rev. Gregory Hosler will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

 

No public calling hours will be held.
