The Life of Stephen J. Sr. Martonak
Stephen J. Martonak Sr., 85, beloved husband of Jessie Mitchell Martonak of Ansonia died November 11, 2007 at Hilltop Health Center in Ansonia. He was born August 11, 1922 in Ansonia, son of the late Stephe and Mary Baran Martonak. He worked for the American Brass Co., as well as BIC Pen of Milford, before retiring in 1987 and was a member of Union 134 U.A.W. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. In addition to his wife, Jessie, he was a loving father and is survived by his two daughters, Margaret Ann Valenti and her husband Philip of Ansonia and Diane Patterson and her husband Marc of Oxford; son, Stephe J. Martonak Jr. of Ansonia; one brother, Peter Martonak of West Palm, FL and three sisters, Mary Velleco, Julia Giovacchino and Theresa Pelaggi all of Seymour. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, who affectionately called his "Pa" and several nieces and nephews. He was predd=eceased by two sisters, Anna Dudac and Helen Narowski. Funaler Services will be held on Wednesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
