The Life of Mrs. Patty Lou Rumsey

Patty Lou Rumsey, 84 of York, PA, died at SpiriTrust Lutheran Village at Sprenkle Drive on January 18, 2021. She was the wife of the late Eugene F. Rumsey. Born May 29, 1936 in Somerset, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Marion (Lape) Stull. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Emaline Knepper and Betty Wolfrey and a brother, Kenny Stull. Patty had various occupations throughout her life. Most recently, before her retirement, Patty worked as the head cook at Autumn House. After retirement, Patty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her friends. Patty was a charter member of York Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed serving there. Patty is survived by a daughter Tami Durst and her husband Jeff of York, a son, Thomas Rumsey of York, an ex-daughter-in-law, Sherry Rumsey of York, four grandchildren, Kayla Durst, Katie Dower and her husband Drew Dower, Ashley Rumsey and Logan Rumsey and a great granddaughter Finley Dower. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday January 25, 2021 at Church of the Open Door - East York Campus, 4075 East Market St. Suite 50, York, PA with the Rev. Larry Humberd, officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, January 24, 2021 and from 10:00-11:00 am on Monday January 25, 2021 at the church. Flowers can be sent to Etzweiler Funeral Home, located at 1111 E. Market St. York, PA 17403. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 661 N.
