The Life of Arslan Seraydarian

 

Arslan Seraydarian, 102, of Broomall died January 14th at home.

Born in Turkey, his family escaped The Armenian Genocide and came to the United States when he was 4 years old. The family settled in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia.  He attended Overbrook HS and dropped out to help the family. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII earning two bronze stars and the French Legion of Honor. He served during the Battle of the Bulge.

Upon returning home he received his high school diploma, a BS in Engineering and worked in the aeronautics industry. Arslan began teaching electronics in the Delaware county intermediate vocational schools. Along with his wife, Gladys who died in Dec of 2019, they enjoyed dancing and were devoted to their family. 

As evidence of his longevity, he was a physical fitness buff. Arslan had attended Art College and in later years took classes at the Art Museum for the visually impaired. Survivors include his daughter Carol Seraydarian and son Don Seraydarian.

Graveside services with military honors , celebrated Wednesday January 20th at the Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill.
