The Life of Josephine Mastrosimone Be Wityak

Josephine "Peppy" Becker Wityak, 80, widow of Raymond Becker and lifelong Ansonia resident, died Saturday March 29, 2008 at Gardner Heights of Shelton. She was born February 29, 1928 in Derby, daughter of the late Vincenso and Michalena Alessio Mastrosimone. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and was a member of the St. Michael's Ladies Society, as well as the Doyle Senior Center in Ansonia. She retired in 1991 after working as a secretary for the State of Connecticut. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Kane of Derby and Michael E. Kane of Sarasota, Fla.; one daughter Lynda Gelineau of Wolcott; and one sister Rose Simeone of Maine. She also leaves eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her four brothers, Samuel, James, Joseph and Angelo Mastrosimone and one sister Helen Chamenko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Rosary Church, Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Jeankins-King Funeral Home, Ansonia, is entrusted with the arrangements.
