The Life of RAYMOND T. KADINGO

Raymond T. Kadingo, 78, of Reading passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2021 at Reading Hospital. Born in Schuylkill Haven, he was the son of the late Simon and Anna (Naradko) Kadingo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Joan M. (Faust) Kadingo.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Kadingo is survived by his five children; Deborah J.. Savino of Dover NJ, Jennifer J.. Garcia, wife of Paul Garcia of Houston TX, Karen F. Carroll of Reading, Rachel A. Kadingo of West Chester and Jonah D. Kadingo of Temple. He is also survived by two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three siblings; Kathleen Rehm, Joseph Kadingo and David Kadingo. Raymond was preceded in death by two brothers; Simon Kadingo and Daniel Kadingo.
After Raymond earned a bachelors degree in nuclear engineering from Fort Schuyler Maritime College in the Bronx, NYC, he worked in the Merchant Marines, which started a love for travel and a strong interest in foreign languages. He had an adventurous spirit; for example, living in Norway and working in a bakery for six months and learning ski jumping. Family was extremely important to him. Ray always stayed in touch with his immediate family, extended family, and friends, and was a great support and help to those he loved. He also volunteered his time and energy to others and projects in the community, such as being a Sunday school teacher at the Byzantine Catholic Church his family belonged to in NJ and later teaching English and reading in the Reading, PA area.
Mr. Kadingo went on to earn and MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was employed as an engineer for Burns & Roe, Gilbert Associates and Lockhead Martin. Ray enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors. Some of his hobbies and interests included hiking, skiing (both cross country and downhill), wind surfing, travel, cooking, and baking. Poppy seed and nut rolls at Christmas and Easter and peanut butter Easter Eggs coated with chocolate were his specialties. He will be remembered as caring, friendly, hard working, intelligent, interested in learning and seeming to never stay still for very long.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday January 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in Bean Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring. A private funeral service and interment will follow at the convenience of the family.
