The Life of Ernest M. Grant

Ernest M. Grant, 86, husband of the late Susan "Sudie" Vaughn Grant and resident of Ansonia, passed away at home on August 28, 2009. He was born December 9, 1922 in Darlington, S.C. son of the late William and Rosa Thomas Grant. An Army veteran of World War II,he worked as a foundry foreman for Farrel Corp. of Ansonia for over 40 years. He was a member and Past Master of the James H. Wilkins Masonic Lodge, a member of the Helping Hand Club and an honorary member of the J.A.T. Scholarship Board, all of Ansonia. In addition to his wife Sudie, Ernest was predeceased by his daughter Diane Grant; and siblings, Willie Mae Spencer, William Grant and Fannie Mae Bonaparte. He leaves his children Glenn Grant Sr., Ernest V. Grant, Tameka Grant-Mack, Danelle C. Grant and Rosalind and Jill Lindsay; sister Florrie Lee Lowe; loving companion Evelyn Lindsay; nine grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchldren, and great- great -grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday from the Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home Ansonia. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
