The Life of Genevieve Adam

Genevieve Adam, age 85, beloved wife of Wail Adam of Ansonia, died WLednesday, September 26, 2007 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.  Born in Derby on September 19, 1922, she was the daugter of the late John and Beertha Cycz Sotek.  Mrs. Adam was a lifelong Valley resident and graduate of Derby High School.  She worked for the Sikorsky Aircraft Co. as a riveter for 15 years until her retirement in 1972.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed ooking  In adition to her husband of 56 years, who were wed in St Michael's Church, she is survived by her devoted daughters, Pauline Raven and her husband Keith of N.J. and Lorraine Adam of Stratford; cherished grandchilden, Aaron and Christine Raven of New Jersey; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Adam was predeceased by sisters, Mary Brozak and Helen Kopchik and a brother, Joseph Sotek  Funeral services will take place on Saturday September 29 2007 at 9:15 am from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby at 10 am.  Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.  Family and friends may call on Friday, September 26, 2007 from 4 to 7 pm.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
