The Life of Mildred Wilkinson Cowles

Mildred Wilkinson Cowles, 91 years old and widow of the late Robert Cowles of Ansonia, died June 21, 2009 at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. She was born July 26, 1918 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Edgar and Emma Elford Wilkinson. A parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia, Mildred worked in the diamond & dye dept. of the American Brass Co. and volunteered for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She is survived by her sister Winifred Lane, niece Margaret Rizzio and her husband James, and her dear friends Rita Bujnovski and Camille Copertino all of Ansonia, as well as other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Davidson and Harried Adams and two brothers, Edgar and Albert Wilkinson. A Mass of Christian Burrial will be on Thursday from The Church of the Assumption, Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home Ansonia is entrusted with the arrangements.
