The Life of William Thomas Hellyar
William "Tom" Hellyar, 84, of Shelton passed away on Sunday March 1, 2009 in CT Hospice, Branford. Tom was born on July 2, 1924 in Ansonia to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Langston Hellyar. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Tom was an exective manager for the American Cancer Society for 31 years before his retirement in 1988. Tom is survived by two loving sisters, Doris Smolenski of Naugatuck and Eileen Kittredge, Sandwich, MA; and two nieces, Bonnie Monahan and Debbie Kosma both of Naugatuck; and a nephew Tom Peters of Nashville, Tenn. A graveside service will be held on Saturday March 14, 2009 at the Pine Grove Cemetery Chapel Ansonia. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
