The Life of Jr. John Kuzmich
John Kuzmich, Jr., 86, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. John was a lifelong Shelton resident, having been born in Shelton on December 2, 1922 to the late John Kuzmich, Sr. and Nastazia Snigir Kuzmich. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Pauline Burin Kuzmich. John served his country with the US Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1946. John worked as a mechanic and ultimately as a crew chief for Sikorsky aircraft from 1947 until retiring May 31, 1985. He and Pauline purchased a cottage on Lake Zoar in 1956 and took great pleasure the rest of his life in developing and enjoying his property. John was a member of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16. He was the beloved father of Sandra Kuzmich and her companion Gregoire Sideleau and is also survived by two nieces Jane Barth and Margaret Boos and his first cousin Helen Heitmann. He was predeceased by his first cousing Florence Malec and her husband Walter. The Riverview Funeral Home Shelton is entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
