The Life of Thomas A. Dillon

Thomas A. Dillon, 79, of Ansonia, husband of the late Helen Love Walkinshaw Dillon and Jeanette A. Burgess Dillon formerly of Glastonbury and Stonington, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday Septembeer 8, 2007 at Hewitt Memorial in Shelton with his loving daughters by his bedside. Tom was born in Middletown on February 6, 1928 son of the late Thomas Francis and Hazel Marguerite Prince Dillon. An Army Veteran of the World War II Era, he was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in North Haven as the Assistant Plant Manager for 38 years retiring in 1987. While working for Pratt Whitney, Tom was involved in the United Way, Special Olympics and Junior Achievement. The Masonic family was an important part of Tom's life as he was a member of the King Hiram Lodge #12 AF/AM in Shelton, a member of the former George Washington Lodge #82 AF/AM in Ansonia, the Lafayette Consistory Scottish Rite Free Masons, Pyramid Shriners #9 Aaonms Milford and the WADI Shrine Club. He also served on the Advisory Board of Ansonia Assembly #8 International Order of Rainbow for Girls receiving the Masonic Youth Award for his devotion to the order. Tom was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Ansonia where he served on the Board of Trustees and Board of Deacons. Tom is survived by his loving family: Daughters, Kathleen Scaife and husband Gary of Oxford, Karen Williams and husband Fred of Ansonia and Kimberly Owens and husband Louis of Derby; a brother William Dillon of Middletown and a sister Hazel D. Hofher of Mashpee, MA, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandsons, a special God Daughter Barbara Pucko of Lee, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a step-daughter Barbara Jackson of Holbrook, MA. Tom is predeceased by a step-son Richard Steinberg and a step-daughter Pamela Walker. The Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
