The Life of Judith Ann Sampson

Judith Ann Sampson, age 77, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by her four children. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Sander, Judy was a lifelong Fairfield resident. She graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and attended Butler Business School. Judy enjoyed a long-standing career in customer service retiring in management for the Biersdorff Corporation. She enjoyed reading, cooking and lunching with friends. Her greatest joy however was spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren who were the light of her life. Judy had the innate ability to find each grandchild's uniqueness and align herself with that. She developed a love for all kinds of sports as she attended as many of the sporting events her grandchildren participated in and enjoyed watching sports to stay current with her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by her four beloved children, Christine Duffy and her husband John of Stratford, Michael Sampson and his wife Julie of Trumbull, John Sampson and his wife Peggy of Graeagle, CA and Tom Sampson and his significant other Maggie Hornung of Milford. Judy had eleven adored grandchildren, Jack, Kevan, Brendan and Ryan Duffy, Michael and Matthew Sampson, Jonathan Sampson and his wife Autumndae, Lily and James Sampson, Tommy and Charlie Sampson, as well as, a great-grandson, Finley. Judy also had two very close cousins, Bob Deaky and his wife Joan of Fairfield and Ken Sabol of Milford. She was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Bieling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Social distancing and face masks are required at church. Interment will be private at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Judy's memory to a charity she was passionate about, the Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center, 267 Grant Street, Bridgeport, CT 06610, in support of her daughter Christine.
