The Life of Mr. Newton K. Ritter

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Newton Kelly Ritter, passed away suddenly at the age of 67. Kelly, as he was affectionately known, was born June 15, 1953 to Clarence and Hattie Mae (Ayers) Ritter in Allendale, South Carolina. He graduated from Allendale-Fairfax High School and later attended Devry College in Atlanta, Ga. After relocating to York, PA, he married the former Eula Mae (Carter) Glover. Kelly was employed with Bowen McLaughlin, Inc. for many years and later retired from Gamlet, Inc. after 15 years. Throughout his retirement he still worked part-time for Securitas Security, most recently at the Armstrong plant in Lancaster.
Kelly loved taking his grandson, Keyon, to the York Revolution baseball games and going on ice cream runs to Carman’s. Kelly leaves to mourn, one daughter, Kam L. Ritter and one grandson, Keyon Davis. He also leaves two step-daughters, Sheila Glover and Diane Glover Brown; and one step-son, Kevin Glover. Surviving siblings include two sisters, Shirley Ritter Morell of Barnwell, SC and Cherolyn Harris of Allendale, SC; two brothers Nathaniel Ritter and Johnnie Ritter, both of Barnwell, SC.
Three siblings preceded him in death, Daisy Flowers, Dora Foster, and Louis Cal Ritter and one step-son, Daniel Glover.
