The Life of Gladys Pauline Collins

 

Gladys P. Collins, 88, longtime Upper Darby resident, died September 13, 2020 at Little Flower Manor. A graduate of Upper Darby High School, class of 1950, she had been employed as an Executive Assistant by Monsanto for 35 years before retiring in 1986. During her career, Gladys traveled and relocated a number of times.

An active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Upper Darby, she served as financial secretary for 18 years, kitchen manager and on the Altar Guild. As a matriarch of the church and a member for over 80 years, Gladys enjoyed every aspect of church life, its' ministry and social opportunities. Holidays were always a special time for Gladys, especially the times she spent with family.

She was a volunteer at the Upper Darby Food Bank, enjoyed puzzles and the game show network. Gladys was known as kind and generous, she enjoyed crafting and cats (more than once taking in and caring for strays). She was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Nettie Collins; sister of the late Glenn Collins and the late Gloria Antonuccio. Survivors: include her nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews

Service: Funeral Service will be for family due to crowd size restrictions at 11AM Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington, Drexel Hill, where friends may call after 10:30AM. Everyone is welcome to her Graveside service at 11:30AM at Arlington

Interment: Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026

Contributions: in her memory to Christ Lutheran Church 7240 Walnut St. Upper Darby, PA 19082 would be preferred
