The Life of Jr. Anthony E. Smith

Anthony Smith, age 34, of Bridgeport, Connecticut entered into eternal rest on  Wednesday, August 19, 2020. He was born on December 13, 1985 in Kingston, Jamaica to Anthony Everard, Sr. and Anzell Smith. Anthony moved to America with his family at the age of five and attended school in Brooklyn, New York. In 1994, when the family moved to Mount Vernon, NY, Anthony attended Mount Vernon High School and completed the twelfth grade at Central High School in Bridgeport, CT in 2004. Anthony successfully graduated from New England Tractor Trailer School, where he acquired his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). He began his employment with Domino Sugar in Yonkers, New York. He pursued his expertise and went on to work for Western Express Trucking as a tractor trailer driver. Later, Anthony went on to work for Meridith Baer Home, also as a truck driver. When it came to sports, Anthony loved baseball and enjoyed playing throughout his youth. Anthony, like his big smile, lived a “big life” full of family, friends and associates that will cherish his memory and never allow his light to fade. Anthony is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Clifford Davis. Anthony leaves to mourn his parents; sons DeVawn, Anthony III (little Tony), Madden and Dreyden; two brothers, Andrew, (Karina) and Anderson Smith; maternal grandmother, Sarah Davis, paternal- grandparents, Webster Smith and Florence Mullings. He also leaves to mourn a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m on Friday September 4, 2020 at Lester Gee Funeral Home, 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Family and friends may view at 11 a.m at the funeral home until time of service.   Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield, Connecticut.
