The Life of Mr. Ihor M. Czerwinskyj

Ihor M. Czerwinskyj, 85, a resident of The Buehrle Center at The Lutheran Home at Topton, and formerly of Bryn Mawr, PA, and The Bronx, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was the widower of Taissa (Zaluskyj) Czerwinskyj who died on February 2, 2002.

Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Ihor was a son of the late Mykola and Nadia (Ratalska) Czerwinskyj. After he and his family came to The United States, Ihor graduated high school in Newark, NJ. He continued his education at The City College of New York, where he earned his Master’s degree in civil engineering. He went on to work as a Civil Engineer for The New York State Department of Health for over 20 years. He then worked in the same capacity at NRC for 13 years until his retirement.

Ihor was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bridgeport, PA. He enjoyed traveling, photography, gardening and collecting stamps and coins.

Ihor is survived by his daughter, Chrystina D. Czerwinsky, wife of Jean-Paul Hafner, Albany, NY. Along with his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Yurij R. Czerwinskyj in 1992.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in St Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 141 Sarah Wells Trail, Campbell Hall, NY, with Very Rev. Yaroslav Kostyk as celebrant. Burial, with military honors by The United States Army, will follow in Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Campbell Hall.
