The Life of DENNIS R. NARCISI

NARCISI DENNIS RALPH

Age 77, of Gibsonia passed peacefully on February 16, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Denny was the co-founder and wine-maker of Narcisi Winery and a retired Industrial Arts teacher at Pine-Richland School District for over thirty years. During his career and retirement, he touched the lives of thousands. Born August 13, 1942, Denny grew up in Wilkinsburg, spending much of his younger years with his grandparents in the Italian-rich community of Sharpsburg. At age 6 he moved to Indiana Township and graduated from Hampton High School in 1961. Denny earned a Bachelor's  degree from California State Teachers' College in 1965, followed by earning a masters equivalent;  with a true love of teaching, Denny began instructing Industrial Arts at Babcock School District, later to evolve into Pine-Richland School District. After retirement Denny followed his other passion: wine-making. Learning from his ancestors and educating himself, Denny co-founded Narcisi Winery with the intention of sharing his passion with others. Denny served on the board of trustees and was head usher at Parkwood Presbyterian Church in Hampton. For years, Denny was an active board member of the Greater Pittsburgh Aquarium Society. He was an avid car enthusiast, an animal lover, and a collector of classic model trains. Despite all of his hobbies and interests, Denny's greatest love was his family; he received the most pleasure from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Denny's zest for life was truly inspirational. His positive attitude and optimism were contagious. "In the end, cancer didn't win, Heaven did." Denny is survived by his loving wife, Sara Jane (David); his two sons, Randall David and Anthony Dennis (Megan Mihalcin); and his grandchildren, Anthony Campbell, Alessandra Anne, and Christian Randall. He was preceded in death by his late parents, Albert Patsy and Anne (Semran), and sister, Patricia Anne. Visitation Thursday, 2-8 p.m. at NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw.
