Bernice (nee Hatch) Brady, 92, of Edgemont, PA, died January 24, 2020 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Born and raised in Upper Darby, she had been a resident of West Chester and Newtown Square before moving to White Horse Village over 10 years ago. Mrs. Brady was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and West Chester State Teacher's College, receiving her degree in Music Education. Her career as an educator was integral to her life. Starting as a teacher in the Upper Darby Schools, Friends Central and the Ellis School for Girls, Bernice was a choir and choral group director in churches and the community.

One of her long tenured positions was with St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Broomall. Bernice taught privately and often served as an accompanist on many occasions. She was a Member of the Church of the Loving Shepherd in West Chester.
Bernice was known to be a wonderful and sensitive musician, with a warm and competent touch on the piano. She was deeply appreciated as an accompanist for soloists and choirs, working into her late 80's. In the last year of her life she sang competent alto with the Village Singers, and attended choir rehearsal just a few days before her passing.
She was also widely appreciated for her warmth, joy, sensitivity, and humor, up till the last day of her life. Her sense of adventure led her to visit daughter Laila for a month in Africa while the latter was serving in the Peace Corps. In her 60's she tented at the Omega Institute to take part in a workshop with the Western Wind Ensemble. She vacationed each summer with the family on their 36 ft. fishing boat.
She was devoted to her grandchildren, kids of son Kevin and daughter-in-law Debbie, and was blessed to have a good visit with them in July at White Horse.
She is pre-deceased by husband Thomas and son Kevin.
Bernice loved beauty, harmony and balance in all their forms. She is deeply missed.
