The Life of PAUL EDWARD WOLFE

Paul E. Wolfe, 90, passed away unexpectedly at Lutheran Hospital on Friday, January 10, 2020. He was born on February 9, in Prairie City, Iowa. Paul grew up in Des Moines, Iowa with his parents and two brothers.

After graduating from Des Moines Technical High School in 1947, Paul was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War until 1952.

Paul worked hard all of his life. His first job began at the age of 12 and he was still working daily around his farm up until his passing. Paul liked to say, “Hard work never hurt anybody.” He retired from the railroad and while he worked, managed to raise a family and build his two homes himself. He could fix almost anything, hence the list of items needing fixing at this time. He was a member of the America Legion and Railroad Union. Regularly attended the local Methodist Church, where he frequently helped with odd jobs there. While Paul worked hard on his own tasks he was always quick to help others.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 67 years, Beverly; son, Steve (Betty); daughter, Kris (Garry); grandsons, Adam (Kristine), Shaun and Parker; two great-grandsons, Theodore and Gibson; nephew and family of Missouri, cousin Beverly of Iowa, cousin Ruth of California, and many other close family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens on Thursday, January 16 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, also at the funeral home with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to United Methodist Church in loving memory of Paul.
