The Life of Mary Jane Huber

Mary Jane Agnes "Janie" Huber of Folcroft, PA passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 25, 2019 at the age of 88. She was born June 18, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to the late John & Alice (Maguire) Reilly.

Janie was predeceased by her beloved husband John "Jack" Huber and her son, Jackie. She is survived by her children Dan (Kathy Lee), Eddie, Jayne Kelly (Leo) and Patti Pearse (Dan), five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her much-loved sister, Patricia Chestnut (Reilly).

Janie was first and foremost a wonderful mom who always placed her five children at the top of her priority list. She was employed by PNC Bank for many years and also loved her time working at the Folcroft Library. She was so proud to be a West Catholic graduate.

Janie enjoyed a wonderful life surrounded by friends and family who loved her dearly. She was a joyous woman who never met a stranger. She was full of mischief and so enjoyed listening to Jack tell his jokes and entertain everyone. She loved to dance. She especially loved a bargain. She would drive miles to find the lowest price, and she was very proud of us when we shared our stories of how we saved money as well.

Even though her final years were tormented by the terrible disease, dementia, we will remember her as a vibrant, fun-loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmom and best friend. Even when the disease took her memory, she remained kind and caring to everyone. And, quite frankly, she surprised us often with her quips.

She always asked about the loved ones who passed before her. And, she is finally reunited with her mother. Up until her last breath, she asked about her mom, and she always wanted to know that her mom was safe.

We will miss seeing, praying and singing with mom. But, we are comforted to know that her clarity has returned, and she is dancing in heaven with the love of her life, Jack. And, we are sure that Jackie ran into her arms and received a long-awaited hug from his mom.

A heart that is broken is a heart that was well loved.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday January 3, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. George Parish, 22 E. Cooke Ave., Glenolden, PA 19036. Mass will begin at 10:00 AM followed by interment in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
