The Life of Louis B Evans Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 1:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Louis B. Evans, Jr., 68, who passed away at Lafayette General Medical Center on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pastor Linton Broussard of The Bayou Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his daughters, Marissa Evans and Ashley Evans Angelle and husband, Jamie; his father, Louis B. Evans, Sr. and companion Giselle Hutchison; his grandchildren, Brett Foster, Mia Knight, Macy Knight, and Isaac Miller; his sister, Karen Elaine Evans LeJeune; his nephews and niece, Michael LeJeune, Emily Eldridge and husband, Bradley and their children, Andrew and Emma, and Daniel LeJeune and wife, Amy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Barnett Evans; his maternal grandparents, E.J.C. Barnett and wife, Bess; his paternal grandparents, Troy Reed Evans, Sr. and wife, Annie Velma Buck Evans; and his uncle, Troy Reed Evans, Jr.
A resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life, Louis was a loving but stubborn individual. He loved his grandchildren most of all. His dog, DJ was a close second. He loved fishing and was darn good at it. He also enjoyed his lifelong profession as an independent petroleum landman. Louis enjoyed helping neighbors out as much as he could and being a part of the 1 man neighborhood watch. He was truly a southern gentleman who always held the door open for others and up until time of death, used his manners that his mother and father instilled in him as a young boy.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the Evans family to the staff of Lafayette General Medical Center for their help and kindness, and to Buddy Champagne for his friendship and loyalty throughout the years.
