The Life of Jerry "Garbo" James Dupuis
Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Jerry "Garbo" Dupuis, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until time of funeral service.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette.
Jerry, better known as Garbo, was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to the late Jacques, Sr. and Edith Trosclair Dupuis. He was a member of the Special Forces Association and Yssup Trail Riding Club. Garbo enjoyed going on trail rides, cook-offs, camping, telling stories of his past, and spending quality time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Kirk Dupuis and wife Leslie; daughter, Melissa Eslinger and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Christine Dupuis, Taylor Blanchard, Justin Eslinger, and Morgan Eslinger; great grandchildren, Bryson, Alex, Daxton, Evan, and Grayson; the mother of his children, Thelma Allemand Hollier; brothers, Larry Dupuis and wife Sherri, and Jacques Dupuis, Jr.; sisters, Sandra Lastrapes and husband Kim, and Pamela Shadrick and husband Don.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacques Dupuis, Sr.; mother, Edith Trosclair Dupuis; sister, Linda Pool; grandchildren, Macie Eslinger, and Dayna and Sophie Dupuis; and his companion of 22 years, Debra Hersey.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Dupuis, Justin Eslinger, Jeff Eslinger, Jacques Dupuis Jr., Teddy Langlinais, and Charlie Holden.
