My first memory of John

I was a sophomore at Carson-Newman College and Ircel invited some of us students to his house. John was in elememtary school it seems and loved kicking the soccer ball. While there he and I spent a lot of the time in his big front yard kicking the ball around and acting like we knew what we were doing. Then I remember another time Ircel brought him along when the international students gathered and went for a van ride over to Smokey Mnt National Park (Cades Cove) for a day. Again, John had his soccer ball and we had big fun. He was such a good blend of Ircel and Rita, and then added his own spice to life too. A really good soul, that one. Mark Tidsworth.

His Motorcycle

The day after we discovered that we were going to have a baby, it was unbelieveable. We were so excited! And I was scared cuz I knew I just made a decision that would change my life forever. Forever for the better.

I remember, JR was coming to pick me up to go out to eat. I couldn't wait for him to arrive, so I went downstairs to wait. When he arrived, he did not arrive on his motorcycle.... He showed up in a little red Toyota car instead. Life decisions. He is not one to hesitate to change for the best or do what is best. He never questions or doubts his choice. His self-confidence is great in his heart. Most can only be slightly jealous from afar. His heart was always powerful beyond measure...
