The Life of Mrs. Anna J. Auger

Anna Joan (Kelly) Auger, age 97, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late James Lewis Auger, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 3, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late John P. and Gertrude Kelly, she had been a Fairfield resident for the last 65 years. Mrs. Auger worked for many years for Fairfield Plastics and, and later in her life, as a child care-giver for Catholic Family Charities. Anna loved spending time with her husband James having coffee at South Benson Boat Marina and traveling with her sisters and their husbands. Above all else, she relished in her role as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and delighted in spending time with her large and extended family. Survivors include four beloved daughters: Nancy Verses and her husband Christ of Monroe, Mary Ann Munson and her husband Fuzzy of Fairfield, Kathleen Nardiello and her husband Jim of Tequesta, FL and Virgie Kelly and her husband Michael of Milford; a sister, Virginia Benigno and her husband Merch of Crystal River, FL; 18 devoted grandchildren, 14 cherished great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Meeker; a son, Jimmy Auger; son-in-law, Chip Meeker; a grandson, James Hull, and her siblings, Thomas, John and Larry Kelly, Marilyn Pyrch and Joan Horsey. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the West Wing at Carolton for the compassion and care provided to Anna during her stay. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield with the Rev. Sam Kachuba officiating.
