The Life of Lucia Ann Savoie
Memorial Services celebrating the life of Lucia Ann Savoie, 59, will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at St. Jules Catholic Church, 116 St. Jules Street, Lafayette, LA. The family will receive visitors beginning at 9 AM until time of Holy Mass at 10 AM. Lucia will be laid to rest immediately following the Mass at Lafayette Memorial Park.
Lucia A. Savoie was born on November 23, 1959 to Fanny and Linton Savoie in Opelousas, Louisiana. After raising her children in Alexandria, LA, she relocated to New Iberia and then Lafayette to be closer to her family.
Lucia had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and the biggest heart a person could have. She was an active volunteer with her children’s youth groups including working with Habitat for Humanity, Christmas caroling, and participating in many chaperoned ?eld trips. Lucia worked her entire life in industries helping people. She worked many years at Pinecrest Developmental Center, food stamp o?ce, and Unemployment Agency before retiring two years ago. She also enjoyed working for ?ower delivery companies with her children and getting to see the smile on peoples faces. She loved people.
Lucia passed away peacefully on July 30, 2019. She leaves behind many loved ones including, her kids, Katie and Brian; parents Fanny and Linton Savoie; her siblings Richard, Sonia, Adrian, and Claudia , her daughter in law, Diana, and her pets, Josie and Birdie.
She is preceded in death by Booger, Porky, Tigger, Diamond, Treasure, Baby Girl and Oscar.
Lucia was always teaching her kids to be vigilant with their money, so in lieu of ?owers, please make donations to her favorite charity, St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
