Carol was born & lived her whole life in Lafayette. After graduating from the first class of the newly formed Cathedral Carmel High School she went to work for South Central Bell. While there she attended Delta Business College and received a diploma in Secretarial Science. She worked as a secretary in the insurance & oil industry for years, but because of her love of the outdoors she decided to attend USL in Biology to work in Wildlife Management. Many people may not know that Carol had a hearing impairment and as fate may have it she was asked to be a “guinea pig” for the students in the Speech and Hearing Department where her sister Darline attended. That is where the seed was planted. She then pursued and obtained a double major in Biology and Speech-Language. Although working in the school system, she continued attending USL until she obtained her Masters Degree in Science and opened a private practice with her sister.

Carol was an awesome Speech Therapist and Swallowing Specialist. She worked with children and adults. She was able to perform miracles with people no one knew what to do with. Carol always searched for knowledge in areas that would enhance her abilities to help others.

Carol had a strong faith in God and that he would pull us through our hardships. She was very generous and always helped those in need. She loved to read, cook and most of all she loved to talk.

Pallbearers will be Bracey Thibodeaux, Dempsey Thibodeaux, Matthew Hebert, David Hebert, Stanley Torkowski, Noah Torkowski, Nicholas Thibodeaux, Robin Torkowski and Amanda Thibodeaux.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her great nieces and nephews.
